Family Fun Fall Fest is Saturday in Port

Family Fun Fall Fest will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Hall in Port Washington.

The event will include scarecrow building for people of all ages starting at 11 a.m. and free pumpkin decorating for children ages 6 and younger beginning at 1:15 p.m. Pumpkins and decorating materials will be provided.

Prizes will be given for the best pumpkins in age categories.

People building scarecrows are asked to bring their own clothing and accessories for their creations. There is a $1 fee for the straw.

Children’s arts and crafts activities will be held inside the hall, where youngsters can receive activity books and tattoos.

There will be live music starting at noon.

Hot dogs and brats will be sold.

Those attending are invited to meet the future service dogs for area veterans, including Oogie, the newest service dog, who will be at the festival courtesy of Partners with Paws.

Money raised by the festival will go toward the Legion and Auxiliary’s Project Bravo, which aims to provide service dogs to veterans in need.

The Legion Hall, aka Inventors BrewPub, is at 435 N. Lake St.
