Elementary school musical a showcase of homegrown talent

Before they took the stage last week for a presentation of the mini musical “A Kid’s Life,” Ozaukee Elementary School students posed with the show’s director, Ozaukee High School sophomore Katelyn Michael (above). Katelyn directed her first musical three years ago for her eighth-grade seminar project. “She didn’t stop there,” Ozaukee Elementary School Principal Lynn Kucharski told the Northern Ozaukee School Board Monday. “She asked to do something similar last year and again this year.” Kucharski gave this year’s show rave reviews. “I just sat there grinning from ear to ear at the whole thing,” she said.   Photos by Sam Arendt
