E-cycle day to be held with changes
The annual e-cycle event for town and village of Belgium residents is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 16, at the town’s recycling center, 1215 Jay Road.
Town Supr. Tom Bichler said one lane of traffic will be open with arrows designating where to go.
“The residents can stay in their vehicles so there’s no contact. We’re going to take the appliances and electronics out of their vehicles. There’s plenty of social distancing that way,” he said.

Five-inch-thick blacktop will be laid around the compactors, as well as a patch to the service door.
“That is kind of our front doorstep. I think more people go to our recycling center than come to our Town Hall,” Town Chairman Tom Winker said.
The recycling center’s summer hours have started. They are 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Also on May 16, Plus Group Wealth Advisors, 680 Main St., will offer free shredding from 8 to 11 a.m. Residents are limited to five boxes each until the truck is full.
