Donation drive raises $9,000 for United Way
United Way of Northern Ozaukee raised more than $9,000 during its 24 Hours of Giving online donation drive on March 17 and 18.
Donations, which were given by 42 people, increased 20% from last year’s drive.
The donors were able to chose which of United Way’s 12 partner agencies would receive their gifts.
The agencies are the Adult Literacy Program, Advocates of Ozaukee, Balance Inc., Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee, Family Sharing, Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee, Lake Shore Regional Child Advocacy Center, NAMI of Ozaukee, Ozaukee Family Services, Ozaukee Jail Literacy Program, Portal Inc. and Sirona Recovery.
These agencies have been working to address the health, education and financial stability of Ozaukee County residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I am thrilled with the success of our designation day, not only for the support the community showed for our partners through their generous gifts, but more importantly, for the opportunity to showcase the agencies’ great work.” Barbara Bates-Nelson, executive director of United Way of Northern Ozaukee, said.
While the designation day is over, donations may still be made to unitedwayno.org, by sending a check to United Way of Northern Ozaukee, P.O. Box 39, Port Washington 53074 or dropping off funds at any Port Washington State Bank location.
