Dog walk, clubs, yoga and more planned at Riveredge

    A wide variety of activities, everything from dog walks to play groups and hikes, are scheduled at Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville in the coming months.
    A  day for dogs and their owners to explore the trails of Riveredge will be held Saturday, Oct. 30.
    The event is intended to give dogs a pristine place to romp while teaching their owners why sanctuaries like Riveredge must balance pets with local wildlife and plants.
     Leashes are required at all times, dogs and their owners must remain on the trails and owners are expected to pick up and dispose of any waste.
    There is a fee of $5 per dog in addition to the trail fee.
    The Riveredge Bird Club will discuss advancing bird conservation in Wisconsin during its 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, meeting.
    A Memory Cafe for those suffering from dementia and their caregivers will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4.
    The  Little Explorers Playgroup for children from infancy to 6 years will be held from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.
    Black Bears of Wisconsin will be discussed during the Tea and Topics session from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11.
    A number of activities will be held Saturday, Nov. 13.
    Fall yoga nidra will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Yoga nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping achieved using guided meditation and an abundance of props to ensure participants are comfortable.
    Those attending should meet at the sugarbush house and bring warm socks and water. A warm fire and hot tea will be enjoyed after the session.
    Advance registration is suggested. The fee is $10 for all access member, $12 for trail pass members and $15 for nonmembers.
    Owls will be the topic for a 10 to 11:30 a.m. session. Those participating will listen to owl calls, look at owl feathers up close and search for owl pellets to dissect.
    The fee is $5 for trail pass members and $7 for nonmembers. There is no fee for all access members.
    Member hikes will be held from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and 3 to 3:45 p.m. These hikes will present information about Riveredge’s history, memberships and great places to go exploring.
    There is no fee but advance registration is required.
    The Nature Tots group for children ages 1 to 4 will learn about feathered friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17.
     The Photo Club will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30.
