County cleans up its messy URL with new

The Ozaukee County government website has a new, more streamlined and easier to remember website name, or URL.

The new replaced the more cumbersome domain on Nov. 1.

The Ozaukee County Board approved the change last spring.

“The .gov domain is exclusively used for governmental entities at the local, state and federal levels and the transition to the .gov domain aligns with governmental and security best practices,” county Administrator Jason Dzwinel said in a press release.

County staff email addresses will reflect the domain until a full transition to Office 365 is complete by January of 2023, when the domain will be retired, he added.

During the transition anyone visiting the domain will be automatically redirected to the new address.
