Chamber’s I-Spy Easter Egg Hunt to conclude Saturday

Fire department joins Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office to spread cheer for children’s birthdays in April

The Belgium Area Chamber of Commerce’s I-Spy Easter Egg Hunt runs through 10 a.m. Saturday.

To participate, village residents and businesses are to display homemade Easter egg art projects in their windows.

Children 10 years and younger in the Village of Belgium who see the eggs are asked to have their parents take a photo of them and post them to the “FOUND ONE” thread on the Chamber’s Facebook page.

At 10 a.m. Saturday, a drawing will be held from the photo submissions. A few children will receive a prize delivered to their doorstep by the Easter bunny.

Residents will be contacted to obtain their addresses.

The Chamber’s annual Easter egg hunt was canceled this year due to the coronavirus.

Fire Department helps celebrate birthdays

While celebrating children’s birthdays with parties including friends and family aren’t allowed due to the coronavirus, the Belgium Fire Department has teamed up with the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office to help.

Every Saturday in April, fire department vehicles will flash their lights while riding by a child’s home “to hopefully put a smile on your child’s face” for their birthday, the department said on Facebook.

The rides are available for children 12 and younger in the village and town of Belgium. Send the department a message via Facebook to get approximate times for the rides.
