Book clubs, social time set at library

November activities at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington include a program on scam prevention, a craft and social time, book clubs and a program on the state’s tribal nations.

The D&D PW Bookwyrms will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays.

The group is for game enthusiasts of all experience levels who enjoy D&D or RPG games.

A grief support group will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 6 and 20, in the community room.

The group is facilitated by Colson Leach, bereavement coordinator with Compassus Hospice.

The Friday Morning Book Talk group sponsored by the Senior Center will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the quiet room

The Novel Ideas Book Club for fiction lovers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, in the quiet room.

Port Conversations will discuss Wisconsin’s tribal nations at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the community room.

University of Wisconsin professor Annie Jones will offer an introduction to Wisconsin’s tribal nations and explore key concepts of the Indigenous world view.

Those attending will leave with an action plan for engaging with Native American people and communities that will be developed using a Native American medicine wheel.

A program on scam prevention will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The session, led by a representative of Kohler Credit Union, will discuss issues with phone, email and social media fraud as well as scammers who impersonate the government and AI-generated scams.

A fall adult craft and social session will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.

The craft will be dainty dishware painting. Those attending are asked to bring “boring” ceramic dishware and leftover nail polish, or they may use the supplies provided.

A Monarch Memory Cafe will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18.

The cafe is a social gathering for individuals living with memory loss, Alzheimer’s or dementia and their family members, friends and professional caregivers.
