Audrey G. Cayo
Audrey Gloria Cayo (nee Saler) was born to eternal life on Dec. 26, 2020, at the age of 83, after a long battle with dementia.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1937, to parents Henry Saler and Florence E. Formolo (nee Watt) in Niagara, Wis.
She married James H. Cayo in 1955 in Kingsford, Mich. For much of her life, she resided in Port Washington, Wis., and Franklin, Wis.
Musically-gifted, Audrey sang in church choir groups and was an avid pianist. Her passion for education led to a Bachelor of Science Degree and a rewarding career in Occupational Therapy.
Audrey loved to try new things and constantly encouraged her children and grandchildren to participate in educational activities and acquire new skills.
She traveled widely, visiting locales from the canals of Venice to the Great Wall of China. She loved to combine travel with her passion for genealogical research.
She is survived by her brother Edmund Saler; her loving children Cynthia (Stewart) Buser, Tim (Bonnie), Kelly (Kim), Matthew, Larry (Julie) and Daniel (Tammi Wagnitz) Cayo; grandchildren Carolynn and Kathy Buser,
Joanne (Gabe) Carretto, Holly Phillips (Nick), Samantha, Michael, K.C., Allison, Megan, Chloe, Blake, Chase and Emrie Cayo; and great-grandchildren Emilia and Liam Carretto and Lilliana Phillips. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will forever remember her with love and joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brothers Alfred Saler and Randall Saler.
A private interment will be at Niagara Cemetery in Niagara, Wis., at a later date.
