An Americanism award-winner

The Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 Auxiliary, represented by President Diane Burkhalter (right) recently honored Elise Grosenick (center) who won the Post’s Americanism essay contest and went on to district competition. Also honored were Thomas Jefferson Middle School teacher Connie Hildebrandt (left) for her help in establishing scholarship opportunities from the local Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts and their auxiliary, and TJ Principal Steve Sukawaty (not pictured) for his support of the Auxiliary’s programs.                  Photo by Sam Arendt
