The Fire Up the Forge event on Sunday, July 9, at Pioneer Village in the Town of Saukville gave people an opportunity to learn the basics of blacksmithing from eight professionals. Young Henry Koepsell helped Zach Immel hammer a piece of hot steel (right). Kisa Trifunovich spoke with Gary Blankenheim as he prepared his forge (above). The event was organized by the Ozaukee County Historical Society, which maintains Pioneer Village.

The latest exhibit at Gallery 224 in downtown Port Washington features the works of Artservancy artists Holly Buchholz and James Toth. The exhibit runs through July at the gallery, 303 N. Franklin St. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays.
