Shirley M. Parlow, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 23, at her Harbor Club residence in Port Washington.
    Mrs. Parlow was born Jan. 2, 1932, in Port Washington to Alvin and Lenore Leider Thome, and attended St. Mary’s Parochial School.
    On Nov. 17, 1951, she married Marvin Parlow of Belgium at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2004.
    A lifelong resident of Port Washington, Mrs. Parlow worked in the service department and in line production at Simplicity Manufacturing Co. for more than 22 years. In her retirement, Mrs. Parlow worked for a few years at Grafton Plastics.
    Her family said Mrs. Parlow always had a smile and a good word for everyone. She was an avid league bowler who loved country music and dancing with her husband.  
    Mrs. Parlow enjoyed traveling to the Western states with her family, as well as Branson, Mo., and Nashville, Tenn.
    In her final years, she enjoyed daily excursions to various restaurants, especially Harry’s in downtown Port and music venues with her dear friend Russ Noegel, her family said.
    Mrs. Parlow is survived by her children Melinda Parlow of Port Washington, Michele (Sid) Weickhardt of Flat Rock, N.C., and Mike Parlow of Port Washington; grandchildren Melanie (Steve) Balsavich, and Spencer, Katie and Chrissy Parlow; and one great-grandson.
    She is further survived by daughter-in-law Mary Parlow of Waukesha and brother-in-law George Lucas of Port Washington.
    In addition to her husband, Mrs. Parlow was preceded in death by her son Mitchell, sister Carol, sister-in-law Evelyn Becker and brother-in-law Ray Becker.
    Services have been held with interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Port Washington.
    Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, handled the arrangements.
