She grew up in Hurley and Newburg and graduated from Ozaukee High School. Shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor of fine arts degree, Mrs. Salli-Kolocek moved to Minneapolis, where she continued her education at the University of Minnesota. She called the state her home for 20 years.
On July 8, 2004, she married James Kolocek of Port Washington and the couple moved to Port.
Her family said that those who knew Mrs. Salli-Kolocek saw her as a soft-spoken, loving and giving woman who was especially moved by the plight of neglected animals. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, which she shared through her watercolor paintings.
Mrs. Salli-Kolocek is survived by her husband Jim; mother Betty Salli of Saukville; siblings Terry (Sheila) Salli of San Antonio, Texas, Suzie (Walt) Rabus of Port Washington, Brenda (Harry) Bernstein of Kaukana, Karen Salli of Saukville, Julie (Joe) Post of Indian Trail, N.C., and Annette (John) Foat of Fredonia.

A gathering in memory of Mrs. Salli-Kolocek will be held in the summer.
Memorials may be sent to James Kolocek.
Poole Funeral Home, Port Washington, handled the arrangements.
