Chester H. Koepke, 97, former resident of Grafton, died at his West Bend home on Thursday, Nov. 30.
    Mr. Koepke was born in North Fond du Lac on May 18, 1920, to August and Anna Zinkann Koepke.
    On Feb. 18, 1944, he married June Averbeck in Fond du Lac.
    Mr. Koepke began his career as an apprentice machinist with Giddings and Lewis Machine Tool Co. in Fond du Lac, where he worked for almost 20 years. When the family moved to Grafton, he worked for Tecumseh Corp. as the head of inspection for the engine divisions.
    His family said, Mr. Koepke liked fishing, was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, loved to travel in the family camper and enjoyed golfing into his 90s.
    Mr. Koepke is survived by his wife June; son Michael of Santa Fe, N.M.; son-in-law Nelson Berg of New Brighton, Minn.; grandchildren Rebecca and Kathryn Koepke; step-grandchildren Jennifer and Jolinda Berg; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Patricia Koepke, and his siblings.
    Funeral services for Mr. Koepke were held on Sunday, Dec. 3, at Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church in West Bend. The Rev. Amy Anderson and the Rev. Wes Falk co-officiated.
    Interment was in Washington County Memorial Park.
    Phillip Funeral Home, West Bend, handled the arrangements.
