Traveling was in Nancy A. Bogie’s blood.
“She was just looking for adventure,” daughter Jennifer Nejedlo said. “I guess she just had an adventurous soul.”
Ms. Bogie, 60, died Thursday, Nov. 9,0 in Verona.
She was born to Lawrence and Sally Egerer Jentges on Nov. 27, 1956, in Port Washington and graduated from Port Washington High School in 1975.
Ms. Bogie was in her 20s when she moved to Maine and later to Washington state. Texas was her next stop, and that is where she married her husband Charlie Bogie.
The couple’s daughter Nejedlo said the family traveled extensively, taking vacations to Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and Mexico.
“She liked to travel. Even if we weren’t going to leave the state, she would be, ‘Oh, let’s go for a Sunday drive and we’ll explore some place new,’” her daughter said. “She enjoyed meeting new people of different diversities and seeing what was out there. The world wasn’t just what you could see or touch, it was beyond your own little bubble.
“When I got married, it was ‘Where are we going to go for our honeymoon?’ We came up with this idea to go to Greece. That’s a part of mom saying we should go out, see the world and travel.”
In 1999, Ms. Bogie moved to the Madison area, and after her husband died, she moved to Verona.
Ms. Bogie enjoyed trips to the family cabin in Birchwood for bonfires, tubing down the river, and the Annual Bluegill Festival. She also liked visiting casinos, spending time with her family, being outdoors, cooking new recipes, playing with her dog, taking motorcycle rides, and keeping up with her favorite television shows, “Project Runway,” “Big Brother” and “Survivor.”
In addition to her mother Sally, Ms. Bogie is survived by her daughters Nejedlo (Derek) of Green Bay and Abbigail Bogie of Madison; son Jacob Bogie of Madison; significant other Michael Cotter; stepchildren, Sara, Andrew and Megan Cotter; brother Steven (Katie) Jentges; sister, Susan (Duane) Sheldon; former mother-in-law Alice Bogie; former sisters-in-law Betsy (John) Drake and Marth (Mike) Schepps; and former brother-in-law William (Rebecca) Bogie.
Ms. Bogey was preceded in death by her father Larry and brother Alan Jentges; former husband Charles Bogie; and former father-in-law Thomas Bogie.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 at Eernisse Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert C. Zick presiding.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the service.
Memorials to Donate Life America are suggested or the family suggests people register to be an organ donor.
