Grafton resident Steven G. Kuether, 57, died Friday, Nov. 3, in a motorcycle accident in Mequon.
He was born in Two Rivers on June 2, 1960, to Glenn and Mary Bauer Kuether.
In 1989, he married Amy Hauser at his parents’ cottage in Door County.
Mr. Kuether graduated from Washington High School in 1978 and earned his bachelor’s degree from Lakeland College in 1999, while working full-time and raising a family.
His family said if people were lucky enough to know him, they likely would have an anecdote to share about him. He was an almost overwhelmingly gregarious person with an uncanny ability to talk to anyone and make friends everywhere he went — sometimes to the playful chagrin of his family.
A supply chain professional and certified purchasing manager, Mr. Kuether worked for Kleen Test Products, Briggs & Stratton and Tapco. Through his work and his demeanor, he made and maintained many friendships throughout his life. He worked hard to provide a comfortable, happy childhood and life for his children, whom he considered to be his greatest accomplishment, his family said.
Mr. Kuether had many hobbies, including photography. He often took sunset photos at his favorite place – his mother’s cottage in Door County. His other interests  included  boating, water sports, woodworking and playing with his golden retriever Beau.
He was also a connoisseur of popular culture and he quoted from “Seinfeld,” Steve Martin comedy bits and “Cheers.”
Mr. Kuether was an avid Packers and Badgers fan who loved to watch the games from the comfort of home with a pot of chili. He also enjoyed golf, taking annual golf trips and frequent league play, and riding his motorcycle. His family said he rode until the first snowflake fell each year.
Mr. Kuether is survived by his wife Amy of Grafton, daughter Taylor of Washington, D.C., and son Mac of Grafton.
He further survived by his mother Mary of Green Bay; sisters Lori (Gary) Wildenberg of New Holstein and Renee (Llew) Rock of Green Bay; and brothers-in-law Todd Hauser and Shawn Hauser, both of Cincinnati.
He was preceded in death by his father Glenn; sister Diane; father-in-law and mother-in-law Norton and Louise Hauser; and sister-in-law Barbara Norman.
Visitation services for Mr. Kuether will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Cedarburg.
Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Kuether can be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Ozaukee Campus.
