Longtime Simplicity Manufacturing employee Peter P. Konyha, 91, of Port Washington, died Wednesday, Oct. 18.
     He was born in Onondaga, N.Y., on Sept. 8, 1926, to John and Irma Toth Konyha.
    After serving for a couple of years in the U.S. Army, Mr. Konyha was honorably discharged and attended Michigan State University to obtain an engineering degree.
    Mr. Konyha married Louise Fowler on Aug. 30, 1952, in Michigan.
    In addition to working for many years at Simplicity, Mr. Konyha also worked for other companies before his retirement in 1999.
    Mr. Konyha is survived by his wife; daughters Carol Jackson, Linda Klemp and Janet Konyha; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brother Ralph Konyha and sisters Lucille, Katie and Charlotte.
    He is preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers and one sister.
    A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington with military honors to follow. Chaplain Steve Cornelius will officiate.
    Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, and a private interment will be held Friday at Holden East Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Hearing Loss Association of America.
