Waterwise gardening program

“Waterwise Gardening” is the topic for a 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 26 class at the Mequon Nature Preserve, 8200 W. County Line Rd. Participants will take an in-depth look at ways to minimize water use, keep water where it falls and efficient ways to water when needed. Plant expert Melinda Myers will provide a look at drought-tolerant plants and ways to manage those that need a bit more moisture. Incorporating rain barrels and rain gardens into the landscape and using drip and clay pot irrigation, GreenWell water savers and other water efficient devices will also be discussed. Reservations are required and may be made by emailing center@mequonnaturepreserve.org.
