The inaugural Flannel Fest Beer and Trivia Walk will be held in downtown Port Washington from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 29.

The event, which is sponsored by Port Main Street Inc., starts at Engine Room 102 in the lower level of the Lake Financial building, 102 E. Pier St.

There, participants will purchase tickets and pick up a map of businesses offering samples of craft beers and trivia questions.

The first 125 people to sign up will also receive commemorative mugs.

Participants will then head to the various businesses for samplings and questions. The beer must be imbibed at the business, not along the walk to the next stop.

After visiting the various locations, participants will return to Engine Room 102 to hand in their trivia answers and enter a drawing for a Port Main Street Inc. gift certificate.

The trivia questions won’t be specific to Port but instead will be general in nature, Port Main Street Inc. Executive Director Melissa Alexander said.

“I don’t want to ask things specific to Port if we’re going to have visitors participate,” she said.

Participants don’t need to answer the questions correctly to qualify for the drawing, Alexander said.

Alexander said the event is intended to both showcase downtown businesses and bring people into local shops during what is traditionally a slow time of the year while also giving people something fun to do in winter.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at Engine Room 102 Saturday or online at www.eventbrite.com by searching for Flannel Fest Beer and Trivia Walk.
