Roth to perform Singer Songwriter concert

 

David Roth will perform a Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at Unitarian Church North in Mequon.

Doors to the church at 13800 N. Port Washington Rd.  open at 7 p.m.              

Roth is known for his offbeat observations, moving stories, sense of the hilarious, and powerful singing and subject matter and  has earned top honors at premier songwriter competitions.

His songs, including “Rising in Love,” “Earth,” “Manuel Garcia,” “May the Light of Love,” “Nine Gold Medals,” “Spacesuits,” “Rocket Science” and “I Stand for Love” have been performed at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations and the Kennedy Center and have been performed on Peter, Paul and Mary’s “Discovered” album and the Kingston Trio’s “Born at the Right Time.”

“Rocket Science” went up on the Space Shuttle Atlantis’s May 2009 mission to repair the Hubble Telescope.           

Roth is the winner of five Positive Music Awards and the 2015 Grace Note for Outstanding Contribution to New Thought Music.

He is also founder and director of the Cape Cod Songwriters Retreat and creator and host of Cape Cod’s “Full Moon Open Mic” which has provided a forum for musicians to connect and be heard while collecting $14,000 in donations for local non-profits.               

Adult tickets are $17 in advance or $21 at the door, and student tickets are $10. There is a $1 per donated food item discount at the door to a maximum $4.

Advance tickets are available at Vines to Cellar winery in Port Washington and the North Shore Bank offices in Grafton and Mequon.

Coffee, teas, water, and snacks will be available for purchase.
