Port library to host talks, raw food program, games


November activities at the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington include everything from book talks, presentations on raw foods and mental health and writing clinics.

“Raw Living Food” will be discussed by Maleine Gargurevich, a caterer and nutritional coach, will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4.

Gargurevich will discuss the benefits of raw living foods and how to add more nutrients to your diet.

The program is sponsored by PortFish, Ltd.

“Enchantress of Numbers” by Jennifer Chiaverini will be discussed at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 8 by the Friday Morning Book Talk.

Reserved copies of the book are available for check out at the circulation desk.

The Writer’s Block group will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Nov. 11 and 25.

The group offers gentle critiques, technical aid  and suggestions for publishing goals in a safe and open-minded environment.

Reducing stress and building resiliency will be discussed by Port Washington-Saukville School Supt. Mike Weber during a 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, program by Port Conversations and Cultivate.

The talk is the final event in the Cultivate Mental Wellness series.

Family Board Game Day will be held from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16.

The theme is “Countrywide Games,” which will include Alhambra, Puerto Rico, Seven Wonders, and Dwar7s Fall.

Those attending may bring their own board games and are asked to use the building entrance on Grand Avenue.

Minor children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“Circe” by Madeline Miller is the book to be discussed by the Monday Night Book Group at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18.

The library at 316 W. Grand Ave. is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
