Joyce Voskuil

Joyce C. Voskuil, 95, of Cedar Grove, died Monday, August 19, at Cedar Grove Gardens assisted living facility.

She was born in Stanley on May 3, 1924, to Clair and Julia Hassler Sheridan.

Mrs. Voskuil graduated from Amherst High School in 1942 and went on to graduate from the Business Institute of Milwaukee. She worked as a secretary for Allen Edmonds, Cedar Grove Elementary School and finished her career at Smith Brothers.

On June 24, 1950, she married Mark Voskuil in Milwaukee.

She was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove, and a volunteer for the Red Cross who enjoyed gardening, baking and traveling.

Her family said Mrs. Voskuil had “a zeal and love for life and found her greatest joy to be with her children and grandchildren.”

Mrs. Voskuil is survived by children Lori (Jeff) Dutter of Cedar Grove and David (Helle) of North Richland Hills, Texas; grandchildren Dustin Dutter, Molly (Adel) Ansari, Bryan (LeighAnn) Voskuil, Abby (Connor) Fuchs and Alan Voskuil; and five great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband Mark Voskuil; parents; brother Galen Sheridan; sisters-in-law Josephine Ellarson, Dorothy Voskuil and Mary Voskuil; brothers-in-law Homer Voskuil, Cap Voskuil and John Ellarson; and parents-in-law H. John and Jennie Voskuil.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, at Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from noon until the service.

Inurnment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery.

Memorials to HSHS St. Nicholas Hospice in Sheboygan are suggested.
