Charles Ostermann

Charles A. Ostermann Jr., 90, of Belgium died Wednesday, Aug. 14.  

He was born in Indianapolis on March 7, 1929, to Charles and Clara Reinke Ostermann.

Mr. Ostermann married Marilyn Nigh on Sept. 8, 1951.

After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Army.   

His family said he enjoyed dancing, bowling, camping and traveling. Mr. Ostermann wrote short stories and played and taught the accordion.

He retired when he was 80.

Mr. Ostermann is survived by his wife Marilyn; children Charles (Miriam), Thomas (Jennifer) and Mark; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Goetz.

A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Aug. 22, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium. The Rev. Wayne King will preside.  

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. Thursday until the service.  

Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Church.
