Celebrating the start of a judicial career

The boardroom in Ozaukee County’s historic downtown Port Washington courthouse, which for decades served as a courtroom, was an appropriate setting for Judge Steve Cain’s investiture last week during which he was ceremoniously sworn in by Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Bradley (right in photo above and speaking in top right photo) while Cain’s wife Heather held a Bible. During the ceremony, Cain stood next to Paul Malloy, Ozaukee County’s presiding judge (left in bottom photo), and Father Thomas De Vries, a senior priest in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee who delivered the invocation. Cain was elected in April to succeed Joseph Voiland and was officially sworn in on Aug. 1.
